Brendan and Chrissy are passionate oenophiles with a combined 30 years in the wine industry. We are supported by, and surrounded with great friends and family who share in our wine obsession. Our portfolio is continuously growing, and we offer an array of wonderfully delicious wines that are some of the greatest we have ever tasted. We invite you to experience our wines; we are certain you will enjoy every bottle of wine you receive from us.

Jeff & Mary Shapiro 

Founders & Co-Owners

Jeff’s career spans over 40 years in the helicopter and wine industry. He was President & General Manager of a major division of Bell Helicopter before founding Dart Helicopter Services LLC (now named Dart Aerospace) which became the world’s largest helicopter accessory company. Jeff sold Dart in 2011. 

In 2009, Jeff & Mary founded Quigley Fine Wines, when on a trip to Italy, they discovered that the best Italian wines were not being exported to the United States due to American importers focus only on quantity and price. Jeff is a commercial helicopter pilot and the author of 9 books.

She is known as the “Ambassador” of Quigley maintaining and developing each relationship. Together, Mary and Jeff visit each vineyard on a 3 year cycle, maintaining relationships and are always on the hunt for new wines that fit the Quigley profile.

Brendan and Chrissy have been a part of the wine industry since 1999. With a combined 40 plus years of buying and selling - and of course swirling, sipping and tasting wines - they are proud to be able to bring their favorites to friends, family and customers around the country. It is with great pride that every bottle of wine offered in the Quigley Fines Wine portfolio is personally selected by Brendan for its high quality and what the Quigley’s like to call it’s “WOW” factor - meaning a truly amazing bottle of wine, and a unique and beautiful expression of its terroir.

When not at the tasting room or enjoying a bottle of fine wine, Brendan and Chrissy can usually be found coaching their children’s baseball and soccer teams, enjoying the beautiful San Diego beaches or hiking with their pup, Maggie.

Melissa Burkette

Controller

Melissa Burkette has been with Quigley Fine Wines for 11 years and is the company Controller. Melissa is a native of Elizabethton, Tennessee, and currently resides in Johnson City, Tennessee. She is a graduate of East Tennessee State University with a BBA in Accounting.  She is married to Dr. Gary Burkette, a retired professor.  When not working, her hobbies are traveling, reading, crafting, and spending time with family, especially the grandchildren!

Missy Carpenter

Wine Consultant

Driven by her love of great wine, Missy has over 20 years of experience in the wine industry. A journalism graduate of Syracuse University, Missy combines her love of wine with great storytelling to paint vivid narratives about the unique taste, history, and personal experience surrounding each vineyard and vintage. Missy is the “hostess with the mostess” and never misses the opportunity to share a great meal with the perfect pairing. Originally from Connecticut, Missy has lived in Madrid, Miami, Washington, D.C and all over Southern California. She loves traveling, spending time at the beach with her husband and two children, reading and gardening. Her favorite wines are White Burgundies, so much so that her daughter's middle name is Meursault! 

Emily Cornish

Tasting Room Attendant

Her bubbly personality serving others matches her favorite wine. This Southern firecracker loves to create an unforgettable BBQ experience for her friends and family.  You can find her in the tasting room entertaining others with wine knowledge and witty conversation. 

Beth Fraitag

Beth’s interest in biodynamic farming methods and organic, sustainable food started in her childhood home, observing her mother in the kitchen. To be able to bring mother nature's bounty into our communities, onto our tables and into our glasses is one of her core beliefs and one of the main reasons she has been with QFW for more than a decade!
